ICD10 Code Implementation Delayed

Friday the October 2013 deadline for implementing ICD10 codes was delayed by the federal government. No big surprise. What changes don’t they end up delaying. Many medical groups have been lobbying the government to delay the adoption of the ICD10s as they feel the medical profession just is not ready for this huge change.

The director of the Department of Health and Human Services announced Friday delaying implementation of the ICD10 saying she would work with doctors to “reexamine the pace at which HHS and the nation implement these important improvements to our health care system.”
